She's Got Legs, and She Knows How to Use Them

Last night I was the Queen of grumpiness. I got home from work and all I felt like doing was lounging on the couch, vegging out and taking a break from having to be mindful of anything and everything.

Since my June goal is to gather 40 hours of cardio workouts (what a crazy frickin' goal!) and I had already done 2 hours on the 1st, I began giving myself excuses not to get my fat arse to the gym.

Finally, at about 8:30pm I decided that I should just go and do it and quit my whining.

While at the gym, I managed to get a peek of myself walking by the muscle men who were admiring themselves in the mirrors on my way to the cardio area and was like, "whoa - my legs are so skinny" and actually thought to myself, "I am bringing sexy back - yeah!" This gave me enough motivation to get myself going and get a great workout in. I managed to do 60 minutes on the treadmill walking at a pace of 3.1 - 3.5 for the full hour. In total I walked just over a 5K in the hour and had a good sweat going (keeping my heart rate in the target zone). All in all I felt good! So good in fact that I'll be back there again tonight, working my butt off!

Here's a teaser sample of my legs (cause I know how to use them):

Also want to share another photo, as I mentioned I went shopping last weekend (because hardly any of my clothes fit me anymore) and picked up a few tops. One such top is this booger green hippie-style shirt I got (on sale) from RW & Co (my favourite store in the whole wide world), check it out:

Lastly, although I am liking the way that my lower half is evolving, I'm still having difficulties with my mid-section, upper body and my neck! Check out my wattle:

I totally need to get rid of this. It's gross and bothers the carp out of me.

Leaving you with a little inspiration today:

  1. Although I don't really know what you mean by your wattle (I don't see a damn thing) my chin was the last thing to go. If I get a little "bloated" I get serious double chin action going on.
I love love love that shirt! Oh and your lovely Lady legs. HOTTIE!

  2. You're looking great! Some cross-training would help tone your upper-body faster - right now, all your cardio is focused on your legs, which is why you're gaining the muscular definition there. Core, shoulders, back, and arms weight workouts would all tone your upper body. And, as you build muscle, you boost your metabolism!

  3. Excellent tip Cassandra! Thanks! I'm thinking of getting some training sessions to be taught how to do some exercises that deal with my "problem" areas.
