Ok, so remember those subway jared commercials? I remember thinking they were so lame.
Well, as it turns out - Jared was right!
I am not a chef, not a cook, not a dishwasher - in fact, I pretty much HATE being in the kitchen in any capacity or role.
A major problem of mine when I was larger was that I ate out ALL THE TIME - and I'm talking like - eating out everyday.
Those days are long gone - but I still do go out for lunch and dinner about 3 - 4 times a week. Every time I get take-out, I go to Subway - it is my saviour.
I usually get a veggie (6-inch) or a turkey sub with no cheese on Whole Wheat, and a tonne of veggies, with mustard as my sauce. It fills me up nicely.
For me, eating out - or "grabbing" a meal on the go is a big part of my life - Subway has allowed me to keep that theme - but make it a non-fat option for me.
I hate to admit that I rely so much on a fast food joint - but for honesty's sake - I am spilling the beans here people.
Honestly, it's ridiculous to think that someone could work 8 hours / day, commute for 4 hours/ day, do part-time grad studies, go to the gym every night and still pack/ make healthy meals. Subway is my lifeline for when things get too hectic around here.
Thank goodness for Subway!
I agree, Subway is a great option for people who are as busy as you girl :) Plus it just tastes so good. No sandwich I ever make tastes so delicious lol. Now if they could just do something about the Subway smell :)
ReplyDeleteA veggie sub is sometimes the only things that saves me.
ReplyDeleteI think there's nothing wrong with relying on take out food as long as you find healthy options. I agree: when I need take out, subway is usually the best choice there is.
ReplyDeleteSome places offer grilled chicken on a wheat bun, or salads w/ low fat dressing. Always better than a burger and fries!
ReplyDeleteIf I lived closer to an "extreme Pita" or "pita Pit" - I would go there more than Subway - it's just that there's a Subway on nearly every corner in my city...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad this works for you, but I take serious issue with your last statement. I go to law school full-time, commute 3 hours a day, run my own business, hit the gym every day, and pack/make my own healthy meals. It's possible. It's just a matter of planning and prioritizing.
