Today, so far has been an incredible day - and it's only 9:30 am here - perhaps it is because it is the Friday before a long weekend, or because I got my yoga on last night... I don't know - but whatever it was - I like it.
I am feeling grateful today - grateful for all the things and people I have in my life, for how fortunate I am to have a wonderful job and work with wonderful people, to have recently purchased my very own first condo and to be starting up with my Grad courses on Tuesday (new semester) again.
Life. Is. Good.
But most of all, I am grateful for me. Yesterday in yoga we did a lot of self-awareness stuff and really focused on ourselves with our heart chakra. The instructor kept repeating, "I'm important too" and I was like, "yes I certainly am". This is something I have recently embraced in life - that I matter and I deserve to be healthy and love myself. I am still working on it, but can confirm that I am a much happier person because I am focusing on loving myself though out this whole weight loss journey.
Ok - now onto the before and afters. Yesterday I wrote about how I was disappointed that I hadn't lost any weight in August, and realized after a conversation with my mom that perhaps my body is changing - but those changes are just not reflected on the scale.
Well, look what I found!
This is a photo that I took on July 7th, at approximately 183 lbs:

Now, here I am today, at approximately 177 lbs (6 lbs weight loss from July 7th):

Wow - I can totally see a difference in my body - although I find it hard to believe that it's only a 6 lb loss.... Perhaps that yoga is working wonders after all!
Have a great long weekend all!
You look awesome, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteSix pounds really does make a difference!
ReplyDeleteNew here, so not saying nothing... I did drool on the keyboard a little.. Thanks for that...
ReplyDeleteWhoa! You'd have to be blind to not see the changes between those pics :) Great job Lisa!
ReplyDeleteYour lookin' pretty Hot, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI had the same experience too earlier this year. I started working out at our pool/rec center 3-4 times a week. After a few months, my Dad was like "Wow, you've lost weight" and I hadn't (as my blog readers know, I am the Queen of Plateaus at the moment). I found the strengthening really did change my body!
