Pardon Me?

A week or so ago, I wrote about how people's comments at work make me very uncomfortable - good or bad.

Well. Today, after I "came out of the closet" at work and told everyone how much weight I had actually lost, an employee of mine told me that I "must have been hiding behind my clothes before".

Then, oh - get this, she says, "well, there is that one pink shirt you used to wear all the time that made you look really fat"

What? Are you fricking kidding me? Since when is it OK to say this to your BOSS!?!

I was incredibly insulted - after all - that still was ME! Just with an extra 60 lbs!

This, folks - is exactly what I HATE dealing with- people and their comments. Good or bad, please park your comments at the door prior to entering my office!

*end of rant*

  1. A lot of people need to grow a filter between their brains and their stupid mouths. That is assuming that they have brains, to begin with...

  3. Wow, how rude of her to say that. I wonder if she's feeling a little jealous?

    Either way, you look fantastic!

  5. It's not cool to insult your boss.
At the same time, try and consider the intention she had behind that. Was she trying to be malicious? Or was she just oblivious?

  8. Wow - I cant believe someone would actually say that - TO THEIR BOSS!

I remember when I was in high school I lost a bunch of weight, and my friends brother said to me "you look really good - you used to be a BIG GIRL".

Where do people get the idea that that is an ok thing to say? Its not.
