Fsssshhhhhhh....
Actually, you call it LISA!
Holy smokes people, I went swimming for the first time in 5 years tonight! And it. felt. great!
I just did laps (106 of them!), but wowza, was it ever fun! I felt like I was 16 again!
At first I started off rather slow (in the slow lane) but then I found my pace and kept it FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF!
As I was swimming, I was thinking to myself - wow - this is so easy, as I alternated between back stoke and heads up breast stroke (note to self: must get goggles - my eyes are killing me!).
Then, I got out of the pool and thought I was going to fall over - my upper back and arms are KILLING ME! I'm dreading what it's going to feel like tomorrow morning!
Funny, at the hour and a half mark, I was debating to myself weather I should keep going and make it 2 hours - thank gawd I decided to quit when I did!
So far October is shaping up to be pretty good!
I'm so proud of you! Look at you, only one day into October and you've already started doing something you've been avoiding!
ReplyDeleteI was a lifeguard when I was a senior in high school. I love to swim and love being in the water. I'm not allowed to swim anymore because of a shoulder thing...but a friend of mine and I are going to the pool 5 days a week and 'swimming' around the perimiter for an hour. I just don't use the shoulders...it's not swimming, but it's moving that I wouldn't ordinarily get!
Keep up the great job!
I thought you called it Wanda...oh yeah, I get it. 106 laps? You are freaking Wonder Woman. Swimming is a lot more difficult than it used to be. Good for you.
ReplyDelete106 laps? holy crap balls!!!!! I'm impressed. Good for you! I hope you could move today (seeing that you wrote this 2 days ago). Keep it up regardless!
